Description

Holosun IRIS-GR3 — Green Laser & IR Illuminator (VCSEL)

The Holosun IRIS-GR3 is a triple-function aiming system that puts a visible green laser, an infrared aiming laser, and a high-output IR illuminator in one compact housing. This is the green version — the “GR3” — built around a 520nm green laser for a bright, easy-to-see aiming point in daylight. (Holosun also makes a red-laser version, the RD3; this listing is the green GR3.) It’s made for shooters running night vision who also want a clean visible laser for day use, all off a single rail-mounted unit.

Green is the point. A 520nm green laser is far easier to pick up in daylight than a red one, so you get a crisp, highly visible aiming dot for fast zeroing and daytime use. Then, when the light drops, the IRIS-GR3’s infrared side takes over for night vision — an IR aiming laser and a separate IR illuminator that lights up what your NVGs are looking at.

Three tools in one housing

  • Visible green laser — 520nm Class 3R (under 5mW) for a bright daylight aiming point and quick zeroing.
  • IR aiming laser — an 800–880nm Class 1 infrared laser for precise aiming under night vision.
  • IR VCSEL illuminator — a 60mW infrared illuminator that floods or spots the area for your NVGs, adjustable from wide flood to tight spot with a top-mounted slider.

An electronic mode switch lets you run the green laser, the IR laser, the IR illuminator, or the IR laser and illuminator together, depending on what the moment calls for.

Zero in daylight, run IR at night

The visible and IR aiming lasers are co-aligned, which is what makes this thing practical: you zero the unit in daylight using the green laser you can actually see, and the IR aiming laser is aligned to the same point of impact for when you switch to night vision. No guessing in the dark. Adjustments are 0.5 MOA per click with a coaxial mechanism for fast, repeatable zeroing.

Built for a real rifle

The housing is 7075-T6 aluminum, IPX8 waterproof, and this generation runs 43% lighter and sits 20% lower than the previous IRIS — less bulk, less weight, less to snag. A center-positioned fire button gives you ambidextrous momentary or constant-on activation, the power and mode switches are rear-facing for easy reach, and it comes with an ultra-compact two-button remote switch with a visible-override function. It direct-mounts to a Picatinny rail and runs on a single CR123A battery.

Genuine Holosun

This is a genuine Holosun IRIS-GR3, carried as an authorized dealer and backed by Holosun’s warranty. It’s a serious piece of equipment — a professional-grade laser and illuminator system, not an entry-level light. If you’re building a night-vision-capable rifle and want one unit that covers day and night, this is it.

Holosun IRIS-GR3 FAQ

Is this the green or the red version?

This is the green version — the IRIS-GR3, with a 520nm visible green laser. Holosun makes a red-laser version called the IRIS-RD3, but this listing is the green GR3.

What does the IRIS-GR3 actually do?

It’s three tools in one: a visible green aiming laser for daylight, an infrared aiming laser for use under night vision, and a 60mW IR VCSEL illuminator that lights up the area for your night-vision devices. You can run them individually or combine the IR laser and illuminator.

Why choose the green laser over red?

A green laser is much easier to see in daylight than a red one. The 520nm green gives you a crisp, highly visible aiming point for fast zeroing and daytime shooting, which is why a lot of shooters specifically want the green GR3.

Do I need night vision to use it?

Not for the green laser — that’s visible to the naked eye and works in daylight. The infrared aiming laser and IR illuminator are meant to be used with night-vision devices; without NVGs you won’t see the IR output.

Can I zero it in daylight and still use IR at night?

Yes — that’s the design. The visible green laser and the IR aiming laser are co-aligned, so you zero in daylight with the green laser you can see, and the IR laser tracks to the same point of impact when you switch to night vision. Adjustments are 0.5 MOA per click.

How does it mount and what powers it?

It direct-mounts to a standard Picatinny rail and runs on a single CR123A battery.

What’s included?

It comes with an ultra-compact two-button remote switch with a visible-override function, so you can control it from a position that works for your setup.

Is it a genuine Holosun with a warranty?

Yes. It’s a genuine Holosun IRIS-GR3, sold as an authorized dealer and backed by Holosun’s warranty.
